The Rev. Rob CourtneyFr. Rob is the rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church & School I've asked several people to pray for a Christmas miracle lately, and clearly your prayers must have worked. We've been hoping that it might be possible for us to return to worship in our space by Christmas Eve. I'm thrilled to announce that we will indeed get to celebrate Christmas together in our space! Our contractors, Strongbuilt Construction, assure us they can complete the work in the church in time for us to offer Christmas services.
Mark your calendars for 4:00 PM or 8:00 PM (or both!) on Christmas Eve, and 10:15 AM Christmas Day for a very special "Christmas in Lakeview." We will be asking you to register for these services simply because we anticipate that many people will wish to attend, both because it's Christmas and it's our first services back in what will be our beautifully restored church. Stay tuned for further details coming next week. While in some ways this time of diaspora has seemed slow (particularly for our faculty, students, and school families), we've actually made some remarkable progress in a short amount of time. The construction is ahead of schedule, it appears our student body will be back on campus by mid-January, and now we know we'll be worshipping in the church by Christmas. It truly is something for which we should be thankful. I hope to see you as we keep W@tCh (Weekends at Church) again this weekend. Bible study and Evensong on Saturday at the Harbor, and Eucharist Sunday at the Cathedral (more details below). In the meantime, best wishes for a safe and happy Thanksgiving! Keep the faith, St. Paul’s. God’s blessings, rob+
