"The angel said to the shepherds, 'Do not be afraid; for see - I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord'" (Luke 2:10-11, NRSV) Christmas in Lakeview
After another challenging year we are all looking for less dimness and more light. We are looking for less sorrow and more joy. We are looking for less despair and more hope. Christmas is about hope, joy, and light coming to live among us, coming to offer us more purposeful lives, coming to show us the true meaning of love. It's about the creative power of God coming to inspire and remake broken people and a broken world. |

A Chance to Offer Yourself a Christmas Gift . . .
Christmas preparation in our culture is all about getting to Christmas Day. Once the day comes and goes, the culture tells us to take down the tree and to move on. In the Church, though, Christmas is a season of 12 days that BEGINS on Christmas Day! Why not give yourself a gift that lasts by taking those 12 days to focus on "the reason for the season"? Each day of the Christmas season we will send you a short devotional email that will help you reflect more intentionally on the birth of Christ, and help you to deepen your faith. Sign up to be on the list below to receive "The Gifts of Christmas: A Devotional for the 12 Days of the Season." Your first email will arrive on Christmas morning and continue through January 5.

A Chance to Offer Your Gift to Others . . .
At all of our Christmas services you will have a chance to give back for the sake of others globally and locally! The otherwise undesignated offerings at all of our Christmas worship services will support the work of the New Orleans Women & Children's Shelter locally, and the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem globally. Please be as generous as you are able!
